Established in 1996, STAR is an equine facilitated therapeutic facility located in Aiken, SC.

An affliate of PATH Int'l (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, formerly known as  NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association), STAR adheres to PATH's strict safety standards, and is fully insured.

STAR is dedicated to helping people with disabilities ages 3-60 improve their quality of life through safe interaction with horses.


Horseback riding improves strength, balance and mobility.
Games and activities on horseback enhance
hand - eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills.
Interaction with horses, instructors and volunteers results in better social and communication skills.
For those unable to participate in other activities, riding a horse greatly increases self esteem and confidence.
The skills students learn in STAR classes are carried over into everyday life challenges.
