Nine STAR students, accompanied by 14 volunteers and instructors Patsy and Kerri participated in a Special Olympics Horse Show at Dream Riders in Lexington, SC on Saturday March 17th.

We all worked hard to prepare for the show and enjoyed the day.

Many thanks to Lewis Dyer, his family and all the people at Dream Riders. Their efforts ensured the show was run in a safe well organized manner.

Leslie Avey of Faith Riders Equine Ministry not only trailered the horses, but stayed to help. Thank you, Leslie!

STAR horses Becky and Rona did an outstanding job, behaving perfectly. We're grateful to Becky's owners Kayla Newing & Jillian Middaugh and Rona's owners Kim & Jose Rodriguez for allowing us to take their horses to the show.

All the STAR students did a wonderful job. It was a long, hectic day, but they were very patient and well behaved. They rode with great enthusiasm and pride.

Thanks to the many STAR volunteers who worked together everything went smoothly. Bob & Anita Page, Ray & Arlene Wright, Dolores Cerefin, Dorothy Schmersey, Jack & Diana Grados, Susan Cohen, Pamela Jung, Ed & Biz Mann, Ron Kludzuweit, Elizabeth Smith and Vickie Boyd all generously donated their time for this event. We couldn't do things like this without the help of these wonderful people.
