Kerri Creamer is the STAR program coordinator. Her duties include community outreach, fundraising, volunteer coordination and horse care management. Kerri is also a NARHA certified instructor. She teaches the weekday and Saturday morning classes.
Instructor Patsy Sheldon brings a wealth of experience to the program. As a pre-school special education teacher and RN Patsy has extensive knowledge of the disabilities of our students. Patsy is a NARHA certified instructor who teaches our Saturday afternoon classes.
Patsy and Kerri both have years of horse experience. Both are certified by the Red Cross in First Aid and CPR, and are Special Olympic coaches.
Volunteer Theresa Shahan is well on her way to becoming a NARHA certified instructor. A former horse racing official and accomplished horsewoman, Theresa is doing a great job as an assistant instructor. We look forward to having her join the staff soon.
In order to assist our students all of us attend horse care management clinics and seminars on various disabilities. We're also members of several Internet groups that enable us to interact with other NARHA centers and share ideas. We work closely together to ensure all STAR participants have a safe and enjoyable experience with the program.
